Project Issue Management
Good project management should have an open
and formal process in regards to issue management. This allows all project
members to be able to forward issues without intimidation knowing that they will
be managed in an open forum in suitable time. To aid
this process, reference to this effect should be outlined in the project management
and quality plans.
Any large project should have a project administrator
that is in control of an Issues' Database. This is likely to be in the main
Project Office. This doesn't have to be a database as such, it could also
be designed on a spreadsheet with some protection built in. Good issue management
allows the project to run smoothly.
With issue management what is important
is that the process is working effectively, everyone knows about the process and
that issues are dealt with in a timely manner. The process is totally visible,
giving confidence to the whole team that issues raised will be discussed effectively
and decisively.
